17th February 2008

Today we reunited one of our cats with her owner, after seeing her on the National Pet Register website, where missing pets are advertised.

Cleo,(pictured above), had been missing from her home in Hebburn since October 2007.  We took her in from a member of the public after she had been found in a bag by the side of a road in Sunderland in November.

It is a mystery as to how Cleo ended up in Sunderland the way she did, but she is now back home with her owner and is very happy.

Today was the opening of our shop, on 130 Dean road, South Shields.  We have combined with North East Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue and Sunderland and South Tyneside rescue to run a shop which will help to raise funds for our animals.

We currently require volunteers and donations of items to sell in the shop.

October 2007

A big thank you to Royal Canin who have donated kitten milk and biscuits to us after we rescued over 20 kittens from a farm in Seaham.

11th Sept 2007

Today we picked up 20 kittens from Seaham who were living outdoors.  Some have cat flu and eye problems and a couple of them could not be saved due to the severity of their condition.  Their ages range from 4 to 16 weeks.  They are now being nursed back to health.  We estimate the total bill of their treatment so far to be £1500, as many of them had to be taken to an emergency veterinary practice.

Any donations would be gratefully accepted.  We also need blankets, towels and anything which we can use as bedding.
