After losing our gorgeous tom cat Fluffy aged 14, we decided to look for a kitten to keep our old cat Paws on her toes! We went to look at Minnie in her foster home with Gillian and fell in love with her. We have had her for 12 days now and she has totally made herself at home. She plays for hours with her toys and eats like a horse! She is very friendly and we love her to bits. Can't wait to officially adopt her.

Hi, this is to Rachel below. Just to let you know that my fiance and I adopted Twinkle a few weeks ago, and she has settled in amazingly. She now lives in Gateshead and is very much a daddies girl and loves snuggling up on the sofa and pestering us to play with her. She is so loving and we are really pleased that she has come to live with us, and that we were able to offer her a home. Thanks to Madeleine for introducing!

Just an update on Maisie. She has grown a lot since I got her in November 2007. She is very happy and now lets people cuddle her and dosen't nibble fingers anymore!. A lovely cat who we are so grateful for. She's my little girl.
Thanks again.

We adopted Vincent now Bailey a siamese from Madeline in May. Within days of the adpotion he became very ill with constant sickness and diarrhoea and at one point it looked like we were going to lose him. After extensive tests our vet now thinks Bailey has IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). He is being fed on a diet of turkey and chicken only and is on a long term course of steroids and antibiotics. He is now doing well and has gained a lot of weight. He is the most gentle loving cat anyone could wish for. The prospect of losing him made us realize what a loss this wonderful cat would be to our family. Thank you feline friends and rest assured we will do everything in our power to keep him happy and heathly.

Hello! Just thought we'd let you know that Tilly is doing great! She now goes outside for a few hours a day & loves to sleep on our bed. She still has no interest in the guinea pig (much to his relief!) & sat up all night with me when i was ill the other night. She really is a little star - we cant thank Gillian & Feline Friends enough for rescuing her. Thanks Again. PS) To anyone looking at this site please consider giving one of these cats a home. They give back so much love. Someone out these must be interested in Twinkle - she is lovely & we hope she finds a home soon.

I would like to say thank you to Sue Maxwell. We met an amaizing person with big catty heart. We gave a home to Becky who started her journey through strange world. Within minutes she become a proper member of family. Now this small brave kitten breaks her ice with a dog -Jet and we hope they will be friends. Surprisingly she took over my daughter and they are inseparatble. i wish Sue all the best.

Thank you so very much for Tilly. We were over the moon to officially adopt her today! She is so loving & wonderful & friendly! We feel so sad to think of her time alone as a stray, but thanks to Feline Friends she & our family now have eachother. Special thanks to Gillian. Best wishes & good luck for the future. xxxx.

I just want to say a thank you to gillian and staff at feline friends as our cat went missing bout 16 months ago and now has been found. He was cared for by gillian and now he is back home and has setlled in really well. When we got him back he is now blind and needs extra care but he is really happy and pleased to be back.Once again a really big thank you as we thought we would never see him again.

Just to let you know how Willow and Bandit are coming along. They are both extremely fit and well and are so settled and happy that I'm sure they have lived with us forever. We have been very brave and started to let them go out for a few hours a day. Bandit is in her glory. She squeeks in protest when its time to go in (she has yet to find her meow!). When they vist their "grandma" they are spoilt rotten and Bandit demands to go out in the nice big garden. Willow is a bit more of a home bird, mostly because he is frightened he misses his tea. He is soooo vocal half the neighbours can hear him shouting. It is lovely when our neighbours and friends comment on how well Wills and Bandie look and how healthy they are. It has to be said that we, like all cat owners, have fell completely under their feline spell and don't know how we ever lived without cats in our lives.

I rescued a cat in the Pennywell area of Sunderland after someone told me he was a stray and was fed by neighbours. I asked Feline Friends for help as he was so thin and would have died without help over the winter period. It came to light he had thyroid disease and it took months for him to stabilise. I became attached to him and he has, after 4 months care with Gillian become a family pet. He is so lovely, fragile but enjoying his warm, well fed, loving life, he still needs a few further trips to the vet's re his teeth but he is improving. Without Feline Friends he'd be a sad statistic of cruelty and negligence. Thank you Feline Friends from Timothy and Tina.

A year ago, we collected Max, then known as 'Little Man' from Madeline. I reguarly look at your site to see how the other little cats are getting on, Max is wonderful! He's a real mummys boy and is in complete control of the home... or he was... until a few months ago, we agreed to collect a cat that was being mistreated with the intention of contacting FelineFriends for help with rehoming her. Instead, she became a fantastic loving cat, a real Daddys girl and with lots of love and attention she is no longer aggressive and bad tempered but a real sweetie. We're looking forward to adopting many more! Keep up the good work x

We adopted Ziggy in October, Sue was fostering him, he was one of the large number of kittens from Seaham. He is settling inreally well and seems to be really enjoying life. He is a loving boy but can also get a bit over excited during play, I'm covered in scratches. His older brother is still getting used to him and will give him the odd growl and swipe but this does not bother Ziggy at all it seems to want to make him play more.

Myself and my other half adopted Greg (now Kano) in November. My Mam fosters for felinefriends and at the time we were fostering a kitten (Kitana). Me and tony became very attached to her and decided we would give her a home, so a friend was needed. Kano and Kitana get on great, its like they've always been brother and sister. They eat, sleep and play together. They are both very loving and love nothing more than falling asleep on the bed (or in it if they can) :) Just want to thank Madeline and Gillian for blessing us with 2 amazing pets!

last year we got a kitten (daisy) from Sue Maxwell - we have one 9 years old (popsy) for company. When the family said they wanted a kitten I contacted Sue to find she was with Feline Friends now. I took them there - big mistake-They came back with 2 - Willow and Bandit and I saw the runt of the litter (Buddy). She was so small we had to leave her until she was strong enough. She is the joy of our household. Daisy and her play all the time and the old girl Popsy washes her anytime she can. I can't thank you enough she is 5 months now and the boss.

Hi, just wanted to say thank you for bringing Willow (grey tabby kitten) into our lives and let you know how shes settling in. It feels like shes been here forever, she gets along so will with all our other pets. The other 2 cats even play with her now, although she does have more energy than them and they soon get tired. She loves the dogs, particularly our weimaraner, and seems to have adopted him as her surrogate mum. At bed time, she snuggles up to him, and can often be found lying on the sofa with him during the day. Shes a real live wire, and very entertaining, who need tv when theres a kitten tearing around the house??

Just an update on Willow and Bandit. They have settled into our home wonderfully and I don't know what we ever did without them. Willow is a lovable rouge. He is a complete wide boy with an adveterous spirit but likes nothing better than to fall asleep on his dad's chest when he's tired. You cannot pass through a room without paying the toll (a tickle of his belly). Bandit can be a sensitive little soul but is so clever and loving and is the first to work things out. She has managed to turn our play station on on more than one occasion. Many thanks once again.

I visited Feline Friends (in partnership with Greyhound rescue) newly, opened charity shop yesterday. It's great. (130 Dean Road, South Shields) I bought the kids, and dogs some lovely teddies. And you have to admire the staff for putting in the long hours, for the good of the rescue.

Just a quick update on Tim (now Arnold) who we adopted back in June. He is a fab little cat, full of confidence and very loving. After a long period of staying indoors (we were a bit loath to let him out in case we lost him although he is microchipped now) he now loves going into the garden but (thankfully) hasn't gone any further! He can sit in wait for ages but if he hears a bark from Sam,next door's dog, or a tweet from a bird who is obviously much bigger than him he bolts straight back indoors. He often carries his toys all the way upstairs and drops them on the bed for us to play with him! and he is just an absolute treasure. We might have wished we had stuck to the name 'Tim' instead of 'Arnold' as he is turing out to be a true Terminator! and a pair of slippers is well on the Christmas list to protect my husband Paul's toes as they are just too easy a target!!
Will forward a photo soon. I'm glad we were able to give Arnold a home and we love him to bits.

We picked up our new kittens Willow and Bandit on Saturday and they have already made our house feel like a home. They have made themselves so at home you would think that they had lived there for years. They have both purred continuously since they arrived and like nothing better than to curl up on the settee with us to watch TV. You all do a fantastic job! Keep up the good work!!

Just thought we would update you on our progress we adopted mr thomas and omalley in july (previously fred and ginger) They are both doing fine, they love cuddles and strokes. Both boys have settled in well. They had never been outside and still havent made any attempt to, but we're happy with that and are not going to force the issue. We have swapped their wet food for dry and they love it, we only give wet as a treat now. They never complain and rarely cry. Cant remember life without them. xx

Hi Gillian and Madeleine, just to give you an update on Gilbert who came to live with us in January 2007. He has totally settled into our home life now and has brought us several presents since playing outside with Simba. He is very vocal, still drools when he is happy and loves to cuddle up and watch the television with us. I hope all the cats displayed on the website are rehomed, you are all doing a tremendous job. Thanks again Emma, Robert, Simba and Gilbert

Hi,
Just adopted Jenny over a week ago. She is a beautiful, loving little cat who follows me everywhere. She is settling down in her new home and has even commandered one of the armchairs. She has a well earned rest on this after she has finished chasing around the house after her toys.

Hi, just to let you know Meg is doing fine. She has settled in lovely and is now a proper softy. She and Jones are getting on ok, not lovey dovey but don't argue. She loves going out and is a real hunter, she is getting the message tho that we don't want her chasing birds and frogs! Wiil leave off when we tell her but when we aren't there it's game on! Has a friend called Thumper- next doors rabbit which spends more and more time in our garden. They enjoy playing chase, eating each others treats and annoying Jonesy! We love her to bits and are so pleased we could give her a good home.
Thanks,
Sharon, John, Adam, Jones and Meg

Hi Gillian, just a quick update on Charlie, he's getting along great, he's really settled and doing so well, he's like a different little cat altogether from when he first came to us in January. He plays out now and enjoys his garden and he actually comes when called which is a relief. He's just lovely and we love him to bits.

We have been catching & neutering feral & semi-feral cats & would really appreciate any offers of homes for them. Suitable places might be farms. stables, allotments or grounds where they could live. They have all been neutered, flea & worm treated & are healthy. Some are more nervous than others but are young & could come round in time. Any suggestions please ?
